Lee is growing a beard!
img_3031.jpg
They give MIT grad students free donuts for some reason.
img_3032.jpg
At the Sharper Image store in the Prudential Building, Lee tried an exercise device. He didn't like it.
img_3033.jpg
On the other hand, Cathy liked the massage chair.
img_3034.jpg
Robosapien robots in action! Not that anyone can figure out how to control them.
img_3035.jpg
Someday robot vacuum cleaners will make maps using my algorithms. Someday.
img_3036.jpg
These things are supposed to help you find your golf ball.
img_3037.jpg
I don't think they work.
img_3038.jpg
Even Cathy can't figure out the Robosapiens.
img_3039.jpg
Despite moving the gyroscope in the prescribed manner, Lee couldn't get it to work as advertised.
img_3040.jpg
And these glasses overlay little guidelines for putting. I think they look fashionable.
img_3041.jpg
Walking around downtown Boston in the snow.
img_3042.jpg
Cathy wanted to rent a movie. So did everyone else in Boston, apparently.
img_3043.jpg
Driving around in a blizzard in Lee's Mini.
img_3044.jpg
Most people are smart enough to stay parked.
img_3045.jpg
Safe in the garage at MIT.
img_3046.jpg
Lee and I went to the MIT Lecture Series Committee's Sci-Fi marathon.
img_3048.jpg
A darker but sharper picture.
img_3049.jpg
When we came out (at 3 am), it was still snowing.
img_3050.jpg
Massachusetts Avenue at 3 am in a blizzard.
img_3051.jpg
Walking back to Lee's dorm in the snow.
img_3052.jpg
Oh yeah. It was also windy. And really, really cold. My face hurt.
img_3053.jpg
The smartest line of people waiting for a free brunch that you will ever see -- all MIT grad students (except me, I guess).
img_3054.jpg
Out we went to check out the devastation.
img_3055.jpg
My car.
img_3056.jpg
Luckily, there is always a shovel in my trunk. A small one.
img_3057.jpg
An hour or so later.
img_3058.jpg
Walking around the dorm, we found the ZipCar running with the doors locked and nobody around. Notice the hole at the exhaust.
img_3059.jpg
ZipCar is kind of a car-sharing type thing. But we didn't think the car should have been running for so long with nobody around.
img_3060.jpg
"Wheels when you want them." Yeah, unless they are buried in three feet of snow.
img_3061.jpg
Lee being a Good Samaritan and calling ZipCar.
img_3062.jpg
The sidewalk on Albany Street was nice and clean.
img_3063.jpg
Someone skiing down Massachusetts Ave.
img_3064.jpg
MIT snowed in.
img_3065.jpg
I will save you with my small metal shovel, MIT.
img_3066.jpg
But instead we kept walking. Here is the Charles River.
img_3067.jpg
Lee trudging along with the shovel.
img_3068.jpg
Downtown Boston obscured by snow.
img_3069.jpg
We came across this stuck car and stopped to help out.
img_3070.jpg
And while that was going on, this car got stuck too, so we helped them out too.
